For over 30 years, Tim Ivy and MK Sizemore have collaborated to produce stories — documentaries, orientation films, theater experiences, kiosks, web videos — that are visually beautiful, heartfelt, perceptive, honest. Our travels have taken us from the barrier islands of the Eastern Shore to the hometowns of far Southwest Virginia, meeting scientists and historians, musicians and artisans, farmers and shopkeepers and miners, politicians and poets.
In all that time, we’ve learned that listening is an art that takes every ounce of our attention, and that around every corner lurks a new and fascinating world.
At the end of the day, our bottom line is measured by how well we capture the realities we encounter. When we do an interview, we want each person view the finished piece and say, “Yes, that’s what I meant.” We want each viewer to see something new in the world, learn something they didn’t know before, celebrate the creativity and passion and insight of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Good eyes and ears and a sense of timing
Tim Ivy's strong technical and creative skills lead him to excel in videography and editing as well as his first love, music and audio editing.
Tim works on every project, from concept to completion -- shooting video in a variety of challenging situations, editing with verve and imagination, ensuring audio mixes of high quality, scoring with original or library music and giving each production a unique character and identity based on carefully listening to client needs and hopes.
Tim also brings a strong understanding of hardware and equipment technology to ensure that delivery is as flawless as production.
Understanding the story and telling it well
As a journalist prior to joining Two Rivers in 1986, MK developed strong research and storytelling abilities that provide Two Rivers with compelling scripts, treatments and production approaches.
Her interviews get at the heart of the story, encouraging people who've never been on camera before to share their passions and personality.
MK carefully researches both subject matter and delivery technology to develop user interfaces and information designs that work to get complex information across in a way that is approachable and user-friendly.
Tim and MK's teamwork brings together words and music, images and concepts in productions that are beautiful and effective.
